well been living home for 5 months now. paying seond house not. never recevied insurance papers on house from the insurance company based out of jim walters main office out of tampa ,fl. had pay half this month and the other half next month still havent seen paper work for insurance, also been waiting 5 months for them to come and finsh some things. walls not straight. cabnets not straight. slab unlevel. floor slopes in kitchen. some of the bricks not level. roof shingles not straigt. framers put on the roof not pro. roofers. trim not finished in one room. have no tub surround in one bath room. a hole in the wall where they were going to put med cabnets in. said it was not in plans. they would give them to me to install my self never seen them. one screen for window. they never installed it. i had to hook up my whirlpool tub up self. breaker went bad for water heater. they never replaced it. replaced my self. they never hooked the power to my water heater hooked up my self. had to run my own water line my self. spent a lot of money getting my house pad belt. they did not do it. porch slab not level. heater puts out 10kw heater has 15 kw. runs alot longer not keeping house cold. they lied about what brand of a/c system they put in. window seal not level. can see sun light thur door going out side. counter top moves up and down. i have be reading lots of stuff on jim walters. if i had read stuff like this before i would of used another company to build my home. papers i signed did not know it protected them from law suits. salesman never told us what they were for. i would like and body in my area are any other area get together. talk to each other see what we can do to get a settlement some how. try to file a home lemon law against the homes people have problems with. i think jim walter should not build homess in texas no more. they hire the worst sub contractors i ever seen. i am contractor. and seen better work then what i have seen in my new home. and they use out of town contractors and un marked trucks with no state lic. numbers. some of the contractors they use my not be lic. the guy it framed the house had 5 drunks and drug head fram the house, had a guy having hang over and sleeping. smelt drugs when i checked on my house. i want a settlement. i have never been so riped off in my life. my dream for a brand new home is now a nightmare. i live in south east texas area. if any one would like to talk more about jim walter homes email me. so we can see what we can do. stop from other people from buying homes from them. hope to hear from any body that is unhappy. thanks chris David orange, Texas U.S.A.
